Çağla Çağlar

Çağla Çağlar (1990, Istanbul) pursued her education in photography, following in the footsteps of her grandfather’s profession. After high school, she continued her academic studies in the field while simultaneously working in the industry for nearly a decade as a director’s assistant on TV series, film, and commercial sets. In addition to shooting posters and teasers for theater plays, she has directed numerous music videos for various artists and collaborated on art projects, producing visual works in partnership with other creatives.

Since 2023, she has been a brand ambassador for Canon.

At the core of her practice lies a strong sense of fictionality. Çağlar materializes fictional structures through a cinematographic language, making full use of cinema’s visual tools—light, movement, and mise-en-scène. Her work explores inner journeys and emotional states through the human body.
